800 million drams recovered to the state budget during preliminary investigation in the case of JLJ Project Company LLC. The criminal case was launched for an offence under part 2 of articles 193 and 205 of Armenian Crinimal Code on May 2 and June 18 over entry of false data in calculations stipulated by law for purpose of deliberately creating elements of insolvency and avoiding payment of large tax.

It should be reminded that during preliminary investigation it was discovered that as a result of activity carried out during 2013-2017, the company paid only 3m 527 thousand drams to the state budget whereas according to returns filed by the company, it generated about 147m drams of tax liability but did not pay it and led the company to bankruptcy. Besides, it was revealed that JLJ Project Company hid about 140 m drams of VAT in its VAT calculation filed to tax authorities for Q1 2016.

The loss caused to the state composed about 300m drams by preliminary calculation and to confirm that and the size of additional tax liabilities investigative and judicial actions are in progress.

According to Article 21 of Armenian constitution, the accused of a crim is considered innocent until proven guilty in the manner prescribed by law under court verdict made effective.
